Kia ora, I’m Tina, and I’m the resident nutritionist at the Hay

I’ve been working in the health and wellness sector for 10 years. I started out by becoming a certified fitness
instructor/personal trainer, and then following my passion for food and nutrition I went on to study Human
Nutrition at Massey University. For me the journey of learning never ends and I’m currently doing my master’s
thesis at Massey University on the topic of Sports Nutrition.

A bit about me

When I’m not at my nutrition practice at the Hay, I’m
working at the Heart Foundation as a Senior Nutrition
Advisor where I support schools and early learning
services in South Auckland with heart healthy eating. In
my spare time you will often find me out running on
some of our beautiful trails

I’m a Registered Nutritionist with the Nutrition Society of
New Zealand which means I must meet requirements
for ongoing continuing education and professional
development and adhere to the Society’s Code of
Professional Standards.

My approach to healthy eating is to keep it simple as
nutrition can be so confusing with all the mixed
messages out there.

My main areas of interest are lifestyle nutrition for
the whole whānau, women’s health, heart health, weight
management and sports nutrition.
